How we protect your information

The short answerWe never receive your company's email, documents or other records. Those go only from your company to the buyer, under an agreement you and your lawyer review. All we hold is what you type into our form. We keep it in an encrypted database, limit who can see it, delete it on a schedule, and never sell it.

Do you ever see our company's records?

No. We help you decide, introduce you to a buyer, and guide you through the steps. The records you choose to license are prepared and transferred between your company and the buyer. We never ask for passwords and never touch your systems.

What do you collect?

  • Your answers to the five questions: industry, staff count, country, systems used and years of records.
  • Contact details, only if you choose to leave them: name, company, email and phone.
  • Proof of consent: if you tick the box agreeing to calls or texts, we save the exact wording you saw, when you agreed, and the internet address you used. The law requires us to be able to show this.
  • Where you came from: if a partner or a campaign link sent you, your browser remembers that code for 90 days so the right partner is credited. It isn't a cookie, and it holds nothing about who you are.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or data brokers.

Where is it stored, and who can see it?

Form answers are stored in a database run by Cloudflare, which encrypts stored data. There is no website login and no web page that can list your details. Only our small team can pull records, using accounts protected by two-factor sign-in. When a new inquiry arrives, the alert email to our team does not include your name, email or phone number.

How long do you keep it?

  • If you don't consent to calls, your internet address and browser details are removed after 30 days.
  • Inquiries that don't go anywhere are deleted after two years.
  • If we work together, we keep records for as long as the work and our legal obligations require.
  • You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing hello@operatingdataadvisors.com.

Do you sell or share it?

We never sell or rent your information. We introduce you to a data buyer only after you tell us you want to go ahead, and we tell you who the buyer is first. We use a few service providers to run the site: Cloudflare (hosting, the database and the spam check on our form) and an email service for our internal alerts. They process data only to provide those services.

What about the buyer's security?

The buyer handles your records, so their security matters most. Before you sign, ask them:

  • How are names and identifying details removed, and can we review the results before anything leaves?
  • Where is the data stored, who can access it, and is it encrypted?
  • Who will use the data, and for what? Can it be resold?
  • What happens if there is a breach, and how quickly will we be told?
  • Is the license exclusive, and when does it end?

Found a security problem?

Please tell us at security@operatingdataadvisors.com. We'll respond quickly and won't take action against good-faith research.
